Thank you Dan Grant from the Arts in Texas

Dan Grant responded to our candidates call regarding a public platform/position on the Arts. Here it is verbatim:

As Congressman, I will support and actively promote the arts in Central Texas, which is after all the music capital of Texas and home of the Texas Book festival, among many other unique arts features.  The Villa Muse development at the site of the former Austin municipal airport is an example of how the public and private sectors can work together to create a unique center where filmmakers, special-effects artists, musicians, advertisers, and gamers can forge their work at state-of-the-art facilities rivaling those in Los Angeles, New York and London.

Promoting the arts isn’t just a commercial or economic strategy.  I will also push for more funding for arts education in public schools to give our students the kind of literary, musical, and visual arts exposure that will help them grow into well-rounded cultural citizens.

We have requested and hope that Congressional 10 candidate Rep. Michael McCaul will submit his Arts’ platforms as well. Candidate Larry Joe Doherty has submitted his Arts platform and is posted through this blog as well.
